HYDROSOLS

Honeysuckle Hydrosol (wildcrafted): Honeysuckle Hydrosol is made from flowers, buds, and tender young leaves. It has a light green scent. Honeysuckle Hydrosol can be used directly on skin as an astringent and antiseptic wash or as a skin soother. Honeysuckle has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for many years, but it's not typically used by western herbalists. For external use only.

Lavender Hydrosol: Lavender Hydrosol has a very light, wonderfully fresh, clean scent of lavender. Lavender has been a favorite for centuries. Lavender is derived from the Latin lavare "to wash" and was used by the Greeks and Romans as a favorite bathwater additive. The botanical is often used as a gentle tonic for the nervous system and is said to soothe headaches and other aches and pains. Is one of the more relaxing and balancing hydrosols. Lavender is an "adaptor," adapting itself to your body and your psyche's needs, soothing or revitalizing as needed. Use in the home, car or office to promote calmness. The soothing and antiseptic qualities make lavender useful in all skin care. It is ideal for oily and combination skin, and is an excellent coolant for minor burns, rashes, and insect bites. Lavender has always been recommended for fragile or damaged skin. Use before and after shaving to prevent inflammation and ingrown hairs. Young children can use it as their own personal and non-allergenic perfume mist.
For external use only.

Melissa Hydrosol (Organically Grown): Melissa has a pleasant, uplifting, lemony scent. Its gentle, astringent qualities are excellent for both skin care and hair care. Melissa or lemon balm herb, as it is commonly called, is traditionally known for its calming, yet uplifting effect. Melissa has also been recognized for its antiviral and antibacterial qualities. The anti-viral power of Melissa Essential Oil is well documented. The hydrosol may be of use in a compress to help ease the symptoms of shingles. For external use only.

Neroli Hydrosol: Neroli hydrosol smells mild and sweet. Pure heaven. Heads-up, a little goes a long ways. Neroli has been used throughout the ages in many cultures as a deodorant; it is commonly used in perfumes; in China it was used in make-up. As an antiseptic which was used for minor inflammations and was also used to kill germs. Neroli receives its name from the Italian city of Neroli, where it was used to ward off a plague in the 17th Century.

Neroli hydrosol is mildly astringent and may be the hydrosol of choice for oily skin. Also good for mature skin, however, not recommended for people with dry skin. I read of several cases where it is spritzed on dogs and cats when taking them to the vet or groomer or other stressful times. If you think that’s great about pets, just wait until you use it when any one around you is feeling anxious or stressed. Instant release. It has also been used as an anti-depressant which is good for the mind. It is often recommended for people suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder and to relieve stress or emotional upsets. It works wonders when sprayed on a dampened cloth and gently wipe the face of the over-excited person. Anyone from babies to the elderly. It calms without causing sleepiness. Makes a wonderful pillow mist to help soothe and calm enough to allow a comfortable rest.

Rose Hydrosol: Rosewater has been used through the millenniums for religious ceremonies, as a courtesy to guests, for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. It is a very mild astringent and can be used as a light toner for extremely sensitive and mature skin. It is prized as a restorative for mature skin, but can be used on all skin types. Makes a wonderful anti-anxiety spray, deodorant, room freshener. For external use only.

Rose Geranium Hydrosol (Organically Grown): My source said their Rose Geranium spent the entire summer in the garden near the roses. It thrived in the warmth of the sun and deeply composted soil. They distill the botanical for the sole purpose of obtaining a quality distillate or hydrosol. The essential oils are not removed, but are allowed to be enjoyed as part of the aromatic hydrosol. Rose Geranium Hydrosol has a very light, rosy/green, fresh fragrance that can be described as a lighter, softer version of the pure essential oil. Rose Geranium Hydrosol is excellent for most skin types. It is considered to have balancing properties which makes it useful for both aromatherapy and skin care. Very balancing floral water. I believe it is a must have for all women; for stress, PMS and the many symptoms of menopause. Rose Geranium offers humectancy, gentle astringency and antiseptic characteristics. Rose Geranium Hydrosol can be used directly on skin as a skin freshener or toner. For external use only.
